Lindt excellence chocolate
Lindt 100g Excellence block range, do a Sea Salt Caramel 47%, and a Caramel & Sea Salt 70%.  They also do a Raspberry Intense 47% as well as a Raspberry & Hazelnut 70%.
What are they like?  How does the 47% and 70% versions compare?

Prices: Bought from New World.
47% were 2 for $7.
70% were $4.99

Lindt Sea salt caramel dark 47% VS lindt caramel & sea salt 70%

Picture
Cocoa Solids: 47%
Sugars per serving size of 20g: 10.8g
You can break a row off easily.
It has a aroma of cocoa with a hint of salt.
There is a slight melt in the mouth and the chocolate flavor is nice with a good amount of caramel and salt.  The aftertaste is a hit of caramel and salt.
This is our favorite from the two.  It was more flavorsome.

Cocoa Solids: 70%
Sugars per serving size of 20g: 6.6g
Breaks off into shards rather than the marked squares.  This has a fainter aroma of cocoa than the dark version.  It doesn't much melt in the mouth and it does not have as much flavor as the dark.  There is hits of cocoa and salt but not a constant taste.  It is strange that the flavor is more diluted than the 47% version, as it looks like there is more yummy bits.  The after taste is cocoa and salt that lingers awhile.

Raspberry intense 47% vs raspberry & Hazelnut 70%

Lindt raspberry intense
Cocoa Solids: 47%
Sugars per serving size of 20g: 9.8g
It is easy to break off a row of squares.  It has a raspberry fragrance.  There is a slight melt in the mouth and there is a lovely strong raspberry hit along with a slight cocoa flavor.  The aftertaste is the same and lingers awhile.  Johanan discovered he is not a fan of raspberry in chocolate, but Joni loved it.  Bruce of course is the tie breaker when there is a  disagreement on a chocolate, and Bruce liked it as well.  This is slightly different from the 70% version as it is suppose to be raspberry intensive and it has no hazelnuts.
This was the favorite of the two, but the 70% version is also nice.
Lindt raspberry and hazelnuts
Cocoa Solids: 70%
Sugars per serving size of 20g: 5.7g
It does not break into the squares.  There is a faint raspberry fragrance.  It does not really melt in the mouth.  The taste is very nice.  There is a nice blend of cocoa, raspberry with a hint of hazelnut.  The aftertaste is the same and lingers for awhile.
Johanan didn't like this one also, because of the raspberry, but Joni liked this version a lot as well.  Bruce the tie breaker, also liked it.

The look of this block with all its yummy bits looks great too.

FINAL THOUGHTS
We both thought the 47% caramel version was nicer than the 70%.
Johanan was out voted on the raspberry, so his verdict is disqualified.
Bruce and Joni both thought the raspberries were really nice.  The favorite was the intense raspberry.

Lindt Chocolate do a great job of getting the cocoa, sugar and  the added flavors balance right.
Also you don't have to go hunting for their stated ingredients.  If it says raspberry on the packet, you are going to get raspberry, or salt or caramel.  They are not scrimpy with the yummy bits. The backs of the 70% blocks with all the yummy bits showing looked so good too.

Joni would definitely buy the Intense Raspberry again, and the Sea Salt Caramel 47% was nice as well.
3 out of the 4 get ticks from us..... well not from Johanan, but he got out voted on his strange raspberry and chocolate aversion.
