Dairy free and Vegan, refined sugar free. Coconut nectar sweetened. Chai Guy's aim is to make organic, ethically-sourced food accessible to everyone. The 60% chocolate is from Ecuador single origin heritage cacoa. Chai Guy sources their cacao from Picari, an Ecuadorian manufacturer of it's native chocolate and are recognised as beyond fair trade.
We bought the bar from Be Organics in Mt Maunganui for $9.95, but you can also buy it directly online in New Zealand. NOTE: To break triangle, pyramid chocolate, it's easier to push the pieces inwards to break off a piece, rather than outwards. Sugars are 9g per 30g serving size. The fragrance is strong tangy chocolate. The taste is a hit of tangy fruitiness and then a hint of wood comes through. The aftertaste there is more of the wood type flavor. We liked this chocolate. We also shared this with a lactose intolerant friend, and he liked it too, even though he said prior, he didn't like dark chocolate. You do not miss the refined sugar. We really liked that earthy wood flavor that comes through. We are calling it the fruit tree chocolate, where you don't just eat the fruit, but branches and all.
