We do like Baron Hasselhoff's Chocolate, so this month we on bought 2 bars that were dessert related.

The Chocolate Bar with Baron Hasselhoff's
Rhubarb and Custard

Picture
We always have rhubarb growing in the garden.
This bar was designed by Luke Owen Smith from the Chocolate shop business, The Chocolate Bar.  Clayton at Baron Hasselhoffs invited Luke to make a chocolate bar with him from scratch.  This bar is based on Luke's favourite childhood dessert, which was his Mum's rhubarb crumble with custard.
Bought from The Chocolate Bar
$14.90 for a 70g bar
Bar No. 145/250 v2.0
Batch 585
Ingredients: cacao, sugar, cocoa butter, oat milk powder, rhubarb, nutmeg, vanilla
Cacao origin: Norandino Cooperative, Peru
Cocoa Content 55%

The aroma is a dark chocolate with a hint of fruitiness.
The taste is fruity with a dark nicely rounded  dark chocolate.  The rhubarb and the fruit notes in the dark chocolate work really well together.  We didn't really pick up on the vanilla custard flavours, but I'm sure they were there to add to that fruity pudding taste.
This is a nice tasting bar.  The only comment on it, was that it was quite gluggy in the mouth, which we guess was the oat milk powder.

Baron Hasselhoff's Marj's Yule Trifle

Custard, Raspberry, and Brandy Trifle Chocolate Bar

The stories behind these bars are always entertaining.  This story of this bar is about the Baron's Aunty Marjorie who at Christmas every year would leap out of a giant trifle. We now have the postcard on our fridge.

Bought from The Chocolate Bar at $13 for a 70g bar.
Batch no: 620
Cacao content 51% Cacao from Norandino Cooperative, Peru.
Ingredients:
Cacao, Organic sugar, Milk powder, Cacao butter, freeze dried Raspberries, Sponge, Brandy

The fragrance is chocolate and something else..... we think it's the brandy.
The texture is slightly crunchy from the dried raspberries, and the chocolate melts in the mouth. The chocolate is fruity and you can taste this as well as the raspberries and just a hint of brandy.
The aftertaste is chocolate and raspberry.
This reminded us of eating a yummy bikkie in texture and because it was sweet and nice and very easy to eat the whole thing.
Johanan is not overly fond of fruit in chocolate, especially raspberries, but the raspberry is not overly strong in this one, it had a really nice balance.

We enjoyed both of these bars.  We ended up making a bit of sweet treat with half of the trifle bar, by putting some whipped cream and raspberry jelly topping on top and it was so yummy.  Needless to say we ate both bars in the one sitting.
